My new tattoo. (Meaning)

I’ve got a lot of questions about it, so I figured I’d go ahead and let you all know the simple explanation of the meaning behind my new tattoo.

The text of it says, “de tous libre”, which is French (a language I have yet to learn, but I really want to, and plan to, soon.) The rough translation is “of all free”. However, that’s supposed to represent a song title, “Everybody’s Free”, (which, the song’s actual full title is “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)”.)

To put it simply, the tattoo represents that “song” in full. The song was actually derived by a guy named Baz Luhrmann. He got the words from an essay that was originally written for an essay in the Chicago Tribune, back in 1997. Every word in the essay/song is something I look to live by. Every single time I listen to it, I literally get chills multiple times. I’ve personally never heard or read anything more simply beautiful than “Everybody’s Free.”

So, that’s that :)

I’ll be posting a photo of the tattoo right above this post,
then the entire song just above that, for those of you that haven’t heard it.
Please be sure to listen to it if you haven’t before, I promise you won’t be let down.
